Synopsis
Ils sont affreux, vilains et complètement déjantés, mais surtout, ils constituent l’élite du lycée Cromartie, le seul établissement scolaire composés à 100% de délinquants ! Ce qui n’arrange pas les affaires de Kamiyama Takashi, dernière recrue de l’école et qui s’avère être le seul élève du lycée au casier judiciaire vierge ! Aux grands maux, les grands remèdes, pour s’intégrer, Kamiyama, n’a pas d’autre choix que de s’imposer comme le Nouveau Caïd vis-à-vis de ses méchants camarades.
Dans la tradition tumultueuse de sa précédente contribution, Battlefield Baseball , le réalisateur Yudai Yamaguchi s’attaque ici à l’adaptation au grand écran du manga hyper populaire d’Eiji Nonaka, Cromartie High School. On dirait bien que Yamaguchi est en train de créer un genre à lui seul, que l’on pourrait peut-être appeler l’ado-baston-punk-rock-japonais, faute de mieux. Un mélange de la bande dessinée Archie avec Versus de Ryuhei Kitamura, voilà ce à quoi ressemble cette fable-pastiche rock ’n’ roll parfaitement inouïe. Yamaguchi, soit dit en passant, a co-écrit le scénario de Versus, et l’a co-réalisé. Tak Sakaguchi, que l’on a pu voir dans Versus puis dans Battlefield Baseball, tient également un rôle dans Cromartie High School. Voilà, chers étudiants, le temps de la remise des bulletins est venu, Cromartie High School obtient un superbe A+ pour excellent divertissement pas du tout fils-à-papa et juste assez trash!
